NAGOYA, Japan - TV personality Mari Christine (file photo) has been chosen to head the public relations division for a six-month world exposition to be held in Aichi Prefecture in 2005, the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition said on Jan. 24. The Expo's main site, Kaisho no Mori, a wooded region in the southern part of Seto, Aichi Prefecture, was drastically reduced in size due to strong opposition from environmentalists. The secretary general of the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition, Harumi Sakamoto (R), said the association answered all questions posed by the BIE officials and that the visiting officials understood the situation. The executive committee will make a report to a BIE general meeting in December.
